Thai formal education

There are 39 Thai public schools in Mae Sot District that provide education to Thai and non-Thai children. As of 10 June 2023, Tak Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 had updated that over 2,000 of Students who do not have proof of registration and students who had registered (number 0) studying in Thai Public schools around Mae Sot.

1. Abolish the Ministry of Education’s announcement on accepting students, students who do not have registration evidence people or no Thai citizenship dated 19 January 2018.

2. This announcement applies to educational institutions under the National Education Act B.E. 2542 (1999) and will come into effect from the academic year BE. 2562 (2019) onwards.

3. Educational institutions are allowed to accept children or persons who do not have proof of civil registration or do not have Thai nationality to study. 4. Educational institutions have to coordinate parents of children or persons without proof of resident registration or 13-digit of identification number to collect relevant evidence documents sent to the District Registration Office/ Local Registration Office Local to inform the request for documentation of the resident registration and identification card in the resident registration database system according to the law on resident registration. And use a 13-digit of identification number as a database of the student in case if checked and found that it is a person who cannot determine the status and 13 digits of identification according to the Civil registration law, such as if they are a group of people who born abroad, traveling back and forth along the border or as a person without any status of an identity, the Educational institutions shall assign student identification codes to use the letter G as specified by the Ministry of Education.

5. In the case where the educational institution accepts students, University students who do not have evidence of resident registration before the year 2561 B.E. at the school and the status of G, P or others, Let the school establish a student’s identification code in the code-setting system to get Identification code of student’s to receive educational services for those who do not have evidence on the People’s Register as required by the Ministry of Education.
